Orlando, FL, March 6, 2003 Arnold Palmer introduced a new generation to the game of golf and so it is fitting that his annual tournament is the site of the third Florida-based PGA TOUR/USA Youth Golf Clinics. The clinic precedes and runs adjacent to the Bay Hill Invitational presented by Cooper Tires. This program is the initiative of the PGA TOUR and USA Network in which 29 clinics spanning coast-to-coast are scheduled to eventually introduce the game of golf to over 10,000 youths nationwide in 2003.

The PGA TOUR/USA Youth Golf Clinics with 300 multicultural kids from the Inner City Games of Orlando will take place at the Eaglewood Golf Course and Ventura Country Club from March 10-April 11. The clinics include five weeks of 1 1/2-hour sessions with each participant receiving a golf shirt, golf balls and hat. Each day, participants will learn and practice the fundamentals of the game of golf. The final clinic includes a golf challenge competition, graduation ceremony, food and beverages, as well as awarding trophies and certificates. Two youngsters will receive golf scholarships and all participants receive mini-sets of golf clubs.

The PGA TOUR/USA Youth Golf Clinics are designed to introduce youngsters to golf and provide them access to the game, facilities, equipment and instruction. Each clinic is available to children (7-17 years-old) residing within a 30-mile radius of the clinic locale. This event is coordinated through USA Network, PGA TOUR and the Multicultural Golf Association of America (MGAA). Time Warner Cable is the local cable affiliate sponsor of the program.

Early-round of coverage of the Bay Hill Invitational presented by Cooper Tires can be seen Thursday-Friday, March 20-21 (4 PM Live ET/1 PM Live PT) on USA Network. Bill Macatee and Roger Maltbie will call the action from the 18th tower.
